What is sublimation
printing?
Sublimation is a permanent, dye-based printing process that bonds color directly into the material — not on top of it. The result is vivid, fade-resistant prints that last the life of the product.
The process
Sublimation printing works by converting specially formulated dye ink into a gas using heat and pressure. That gas penetrates and bonds with the polymer structure of the substrate — when it cools, the dye re-solidifies inside the material itself. There's no film, no layer sitting on the surface, and no cracking or peeling over time.
Step 01
Design & Print
Artwork is printed onto transfer paper using professional sublimation inks on our high-end printers.
Step 02
Coat (if needed)
For wood, glass, metal, and certain surfaces, our proprietary sublimation coating is applied in our industrial coating booths.
Step 03
Heat Transfer
The transfer is pressed against the substrate using commercial heat presses at precise temperature and pressure.
Step 04
Cure & Finish
Products go through our industrial ovens to fully cure the coating and lock in the final finish.
Bulk & wholesale orders
Need volume?
That's what we're built for.
Every product and service we offer is available in bulk — from small business runs to large-scale wholesale orders. We have the industrial equipment, the coating line, and the capacity to handle real volume without sacrificing quality. What we print on
Our equipment handles a wide range of substrates — from soft goods to hard surfaces:
Apparel sublimation works best on 100% polyester or high-poly blend white and light-colored fabrics. For harder surfaces like glass, metal, or our custom-cut wood pieces, we apply our own coating before printing.
What to expect
Sublimation excels at photographic detail, full-color gradients, and edge-to-edge prints with no visible borders. Colors are vivid and saturated. Because the ink becomes part of the material, prints are dishwasher-safe on ceramics, UV-resistant on glass, and wash-safe on treated apparel. One important note: sublimation requires a white or very light base to accurately reproduce color — printing on dark surfaces produces muted results.
Our proprietary coating
A rare capability
One of two companies in the US
offering in-house sublimation coating.
Most shops order pre-coated blanks from a supplier. We run our own industrial coating line — giving us control over surface, finish, and substrate that no off-the-shelf blank can match.
Print Forge Designs applies sublimation-ready coatings to nearly any surface in our facility — including custom-cut wood shapes we fabricate ourselves. Our industrial coating booths and ovens let us coat and cure at a level most shops simply don't have access to. The same line powers our TJ Exclusives gaming products, so it runs daily and runs hard.
